Patchwork Gourd Purse
Just imagine, a purse made out of tobacco gourd. The focal points
of this 9" round purse are the two inlaid handmade pager decoupage patches (on front and back of purse). The remaining
patches are colored with inks and oil paints that compliment the colors of the decoupage. Wood knobs hold the black
satin corded handle. The hinges and closure are made of solid brass. The inside of the purse is finished in decoupage.

GP5 Orange Sunflower Purse:
The sunflower was carved into this canteen gourd as
were the leaves. The flower and leaves were colored
with inks. The leaves were then highlighted with
other shades of ink .The background of the purse was
made with a textured material plus ink. The hardware
was then stained to match the center of the
sunflower. The center of the flower (the clasp) is
made of wood, lightly carved out, and stained to
depict its actual coloring. I handtooled the purse
strap. It measures approximately 8 ¾: in diameter
and is about 5:" thick.

GP3 Fall Leaves Gourd Purse

A falling leaves design wood
burned into a canteen gourd and then colored with a blend of
inks adorn this purse on both front and back. The clasp is made with an acorn. All of the hardware is solid brass
which I finished in a deep pewter color. The inside of the purse is finished with a decoupage of handmade deep burnt
orange paper. The shoulder strap is handtooled leather. It is such a beautiful compliment to add to
your wardrobe, while making its own fashion statement. The purse measures approximately 10" in diameter
and 5 1/2" deep.

Yellow Sunflower Purse
The sunflower was carved into this canteen gourd
as were the leaves. The flower and leaves were
colored with inks. The leaves were then
highlighted with other shades of ink and also
gold. The background of the purse was colored
with various inks. The hardware was then stained
to blend in with the background. The center of
the flower (the clasp) is made of wood, lightly
carved out, and stained to depict its actual
coloring. I handtooled the purse strap. It
measures approximately 7 ¾: in diameter and is 4
½:" thick.

GP22 Sunflower Gourd Purse
"Bold and Sassy" are the first words I used to describe this purse as soon as I finished making it. The sunflower
really says it all. The sunflower was carved into this canteen gourd while the leaves were wood burned. The flower
was then painted with acrylic paints, and the leaves were colored with a blend of various shades of green ink. The hardware
is solid brass which was then stained to blend in with the orangebrown background. The center of the flower (the clasp)
is made of wood, lightly carved out, and stained to depict its actual coloring. I handtooled the purse strap.
It measures approximately 8" in diameter and 5" thick. What a perfect gift for a friend or for yourself!
