GJ47 The “WOW” Pendant Necklace
AWARD WINNER!
Two round gourd shards colored with inks and joined with nuts and seed beads make up the pendant part of this necklace. The “chain” part of the necklace is made of very thin strings of leather and embellished with copper tubes which were colored to compliment the pendant. The pendant measures approximately 3” round; the chain measures 11 ½” on each side.

GJ41 English Shield
AWARD WINNER!
Though quite similar to GJ39, it is not exactly alike—because no two gourds are identical in shape or color. When coloring two different gourds with the exact same color of ink, they will turn out differently. This necklace, too, has the main color as a dark green, but that’s where the similarity ends. The chain is comprised of black and beige glass beads and rectangular ceramic beads all of which compliment the shield. The three stone pieces hanging from the
shield are also complimentary with the shield.

CJ39 The Shield

This necklace reminds me of an ancient shield. The coloring of the shield was designed to compliment the three stone pieces hanging from the shield. The shield with the stone pieces
measures 4” x 2 ¼”. The 22” chain is made up of gold beads, multicolored glass nuggets, and glass flat beads all of which were chosen because they brought out the coloring of the shield.

GJ42 Multicolored Gourd Collar
The multitude of colors of this necklace will enhance your solid colored outfit. Whatever color you are wearing, this necklace will probably have that color in it and will make the necklace stand out. So as not to detract from the necklace, I have used solid black flat beads for the chain.

GJ1 Pressed Flower Pendant
This pendant was made from a 2 1/4" round piece of gourd. The background is stained with raw sienna oil paint then pressed flowers and fern were attached. The true colors of the flowers are purple and yellow. It was then sealed to produce dimension and highlights. The
back of the pendant is finished with a suede look.
Auroraborialis beads and amethyst nuggets make the chain! A beautiful little piece.

GJ26 Brown and Gold Winter Leaf
The leafshaped gourd shard was colored and highlighted with copper and bronze metallic accents and then wrapped with copper wire.
The pendant measures approximately 3”x 2”. The 22” chain is made of multicolored brown glass nuggets, creamcolored heishe, copper metal beads, and wood tube beads. The chain can be shortened to 19”.

Crosswise Oval
The basic shape of the gourd pendant is an oval with the coloring made up of red and green inks and highlighted with touches of copper, bronze, and gold Pearl X powders. The 22” chain has the exact same colors contained in the pendant

The gourd shard was first wood burned and then inks and powders were applied. The pendant measures 2 ¾” x 1 ¾”. The chain is comprised of catseye beads, coppercolored faceted and turquoise glass beads. The chain measures 22”.

GJ23 Gourd Decoupage Collar
This decoupage collar was created from three sections of gourd shards. Each piece is covered with handmade paper (the colors of the paper are greens, blues, and shades of turquoise) and then sealed. The three sections are joined together with gold jump rings. The necklace chain consists of gold beads plus
turquoise and gold cylinder beads.

The Black Square
This is a 2 ¼” square piece of gourd which was first colored with black ink and then a simple designed carved into it. Then the turquoise nugget was added as an accent. The 23” leather cord holds the pendant in place.

GJ19 The Arrowhead
This design was formed by stomping on a large piece of gourd and one of the resulting pieces resembled an arrowhead, thus the name of this art piece. The shard was colored with a honey and walnut wood stain and sealer and embellished with gold and brass pigments. It was inlaid with hammered copper and then wrapped with brass wire. The pendant is approximately 3 1/4" x 1
1/4".

GJ22 Gourd Collar
with Metallic Leaf Inlay
This dramatic necklace was created from three sections of gourd shards. It was then pyroengraved, inlaid with metallic leaf foil, then painted with dyes, ink, and acrylic paint. It was sealed and then the gourd pieces were joined with gold jump rings. The backing of the gourd shards is leather. The gourd
sections measure approximately 5 3/4" across by about 1 1/4" (for the largest gourd shard).
