AP34 Antler Bowl
A deer antler acts as a handle for this gourd bowl. The edge of the brown bowl is lashed with natural fruited date palm. The trim around the bowl is carved showing the natural color of the gourd.. The inside of the bowl is finished in a decoupage of handmade paper. It measures approximately 10 inches in diameter and stands 8 ½ inches tall (including the antler)

Mushroom Pod Gourd
Numerous techniques were used to create this container. I used alcohol inks and acrylic paints for the background. The cutout of the gourd is surrounded with dyed date palm which was affixed with lashing, followed by couching of the date palm at the next level, and then weaving of more date palm, and finally completed with another set of the couching of date palm
The accent piece is a large mushroom pod which was colored with copper acrylic paint and alcohol inks then trimmed with a copper bead ball. It measures approximately 12 inches tall by 11 inches wide.

Wine Colored Container
This 10 inch container was first colored with purple and wine red inks and then sponged with black acrylic paint. The accents on the container consists of black dyed date palm couched on gourd, clay squares adorning the front of the gourd strung on wire.

The pitcher and bowl are pyroengraved and colored with inks and acrylic paints.
The bowl opening is finished with fruited date palm. The "nectar" is made out of clay and then covered with multicolored
metallic leafing. A background of desert sand finishes the picture. It is framed in very old oak and the inside
border is purple heart wood. This framed gourd art measures approximately 19" x 30".

This 8” canteen gourd was first wood burned to
create the design and then colored with primary and
secondary colors of inks and acrylic paints.

East Meets West is an Asian influenced collage in decoupage affixed upon a canteen gourd. The collage includes
handmade papers and gold leaf foil. It was then wrapped with black waxed linen thread to resemble fish netting and held
in place by brass tacks. There is a clay medallion on the top and bottom of this gourd which was impressed with
a shell motif and finished with gold leaf foil. The size is 9" in diameter and 6" tall.

AP17 Beauty in Motion
AWARD WINNER!
This sculpture is one
of my most favorite pieces thus far in my gourd art collection. Three snake gourds were used to create the sculpture
(it took me three years to find the three). The "snakes" were beautiful in shape and motion when I found them; therefore,
they needed no beautification other than coloring them with artprint brown ink and inlaying the black eyes to make them into
this piece of art. The base is a piece of 1" wood covered with desert sand and embellished with river and lava rocks.
The sculpture measures approximately 20" long, 24" tall, and 11" deep.

Hello Minnesota fansthis is perfect for the football season! Use it as a centerpiece
for your football celebration parties or wear to the football game. The helmet was created from three separate gourds.
Brass tacks surround the helmet. The horns are painted metallic gold. The helmet itself is finished in what is
called Craftsman's Blend finish which was then heated to produce the effect that I wanted to create. The inside is finished
with a decoupage of handmade paper.

This
little Spirit Doll stands 8 ½” tall. She was first woodburned and then
colored with inks. Her hair is made out of leather which was wetted and twisted.

This gourd was first rubbed with an oil stain. The ladies were pyroengraved, and then dyes, inks,
and acrylic paints were used to color their figures. The gourd is finished with an acrylic sealer. This
piece of art is approximately 12” tall and 8” wide.

The balls are colored with chocolate and butterscotch inks and then
circles were carved into the gourd balls.

AP12 Silver Trimmed Rams' Horn
The ram's horn is dyed with black acrylic paint.
The rod holding the horn is aluminum and the trim is comprised of tiny silver marbles. The ram’s horn is approximately 10" high and 10"

This viper is made from just one gourd but I added 3" to the tail to enhance
the rattles. It was then covered with a “snake” paper and decoupaged.
The viper could be placed outdoors since it has been protected against the elements. The
viper is approximately 28" long and 6" high (at the tail). Price...$45

This apple gourd is painted with dyes and inks and embellished with leaves made of clay and a little
clay worm coming out of the apple. It is approximately 4 1/2" tall.
