Green and Copper Disk Pendant

Two round gourd shards colored with
green and copper inks and joined
with nuts and seed beads make up the
pendant part of this necklace. The
“chain” part of the necklace is made
of very thin strings of leather and
embellished with copper tubes which
were colored to compliment the
pendant. The pendant measures
approximately 3” round; the chain
measures 11 ½” on each side.

GP5 Orange Sunflower Purse AWARD WINNER!
The sunflower was carved into this canteen gourd as
were the leaves. The flower and leaves were colored
with inks. The leaves were then highlighted with
other shades of ink .The background of the purse was
made with a textured material plus ink. The hardware
was then stained to match the center of the
sunflower. The center of the flower (the clasp) is
made of wood, lightly carved out, and stained to
depict its actual coloring. I handtooled the purse
strap. It measures approximately 8 ¾: in diameter
and is about 5:" thick.

The mask was first woodburned and then colored with mango and artprint brown inks, and then turquoise oil paint was applied along with turquoise dots. Part of the eyes were stippled, painted with black ink and then brushed with acrylic turquoise paint.Finally, a variety of feathers were applied. It measures about 12" x 10"
